Don Allan Byfuglien passed away suddenly on December 5, 2012 as the result of an auto accident at the age of 53.
Don was born on March 22, 1959 in Roseau, MN to Kenneth and Crystal (Brandt) Byfuglien. He graduated from Roseau High School in 1978, and was a Jr. Fair Board member. He loved mowing the lawn, snow-plowing, farming, car racing and hauling cattle. He also enjoyed stopping to visit his friends at the C-Store where he bought his Mt. Dew and Scratch Tickets and at Subway to chat with the girls. He also spent time helping out the guys at D & E Sports.
He spent many hours working on his beloved 1967 International pick up with Marlo Johnson’s help… letting his nieces and nephews sit behind the wheel and talk on his loud speakers. He loved his girls at Gene’s when he had his classic cheeseburger and Mt. Dew. His semi-truck collection was well used by his great-nieces and nephews. Blessed be his memory.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Crystal of Roseau; siblings, Dana (Marianne) Byfuglien, Susan (Randy) Kvien, Valerie (Scott) Sherman, Dean (Nicole) Byfuglien, Cheryl (Dale) Byfuglien, Krisann (Dale) Thortsen, and Jeremy (Penny) Byfuglien; 22 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and nephews; uncle, Robert (Vangie) Byfuglien; aunts, Vivian Byfuglien Turner and Shelia (Duane) Olson.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jana Byfuglien Hodgson; brother-in-law, Doyle Hammer; grandparents, Knut & Gunda Byfuglien and Gust & Lena Brandt; and sister-in-law, Linda Byfuglien Monkman.
